A digital platform was chosen to compile data about museum collections.
This platform, DiMCoN, provides digital access to museum collection databases and also generates management information on the nature and composition of the affiliated collections. To facilitate this DiMCoN is based on open source software that has also been developed for the European platform Europeana.
Dozens of museums have been affiliated with DiMCoN in the context of the Research Agenda 2008-2012, and the number of participants is still rising.
