Simplification of CRM methodology and development of instruments to independently perform risk analyses.
The existing CRM methodology was simplified. End-users can independently perform risk analyses with these instruments and make then decisions on the mitigation of the relevant risks.

The most important of these instruments are the worksheets for the implementation of a risk analysis, the valuation wizard (for gaining insight into the distribution of the total value of the collection over the sub-collections; value categories and objects) and the scenario flowchart, an aid for the identification, analysis and mitigation of specific risks for ten damage factors with supplementary information.
This methodology and its tools have been used in a number of case studies, such as the Ons’ Lieve Heer op Solder Museum, the Revolution installation by Jeffrey Shaw and Tjebbe van Teijen, and the portrait gallery in the foyer of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. The instruments have also been tested in the international e-learning course 'Reducing Risks to Cultural Heritage' in collaboration with ICCROM and CCI, in workshops, and lectures at the Reinwardt Academy. The project also supplied various modules for The Digital Collection Risk Management Manual.
